Are you prepared?

We don't think of ourselves as "preppers". We have lived at the edge of a small town for almost 30 years. This town does not have a gas station any more, only a small convenience store. We have learned that when we go anywhere out of town, get what you need at that time. We don't make special trips. If we forgot something, it goes on the list for the next time we "go to town". When we get a lot of rain, we are not flooded where we are, but our routes to the nearest towns may be. We are on a limited income, so everything gets thought through before we go anywhere. I must admit, I get tired of thinking through every move, but it only makes sense to do that. Less gas money means more money in your pocket. We have a doctor appointment this week, so that means getting any groceries or anything else we need while we are out of town.
Although we are not preppers, we try to make sure we have what we need in case of emergency situations where we can't get anywhere. Always make sure you have the necessities: food, water, medications, etc. There may be a time when you can not get somewhere to get that stuff.

Rain!

Over the last few days we got some rain.....lots of rain. According to the rain gauge, yesterday was 1.7, day before was 1.6. That doesn't include the rains before that. We needed the rain so can't complain. At least we didn't have anything flooded out of the garden beds.
