Our Critters (updated 11/16/17)

RABBITS
Raised for meat and manure. We raise pedigreed Californians and Havanas. We do not sell rabbit meat, we raise them for our own use. We compost all of our manure or put it directly on the plants. Rabbit poop is awesome for plants. It truly is black gold for your garden. We may sell some rabbit poop if someone were interested in purchasing it.

GOATS
We no longer have milking does. The milking got too hard on my hands. We only have our two boys Mudd and Max for companionship and weed control.

Mudd, a Boer/ Nubian cross wether was born here about 4 years ago and will never have another home. He is a loving friend and we wouldn't know what to do without him. He is so mild mannered that we always put any baby goat or a new goat that we purchase in with Mudd and we know he will always be good to them and show them the ropes of the barnyard. We would love to get Mudd trained to pack. He has the temperament and size for packing and minds wonderfully.

Max is a Saanen/pygmy cross. He is a good tempered buddy for Mudd. He loves to eat but could care less for people. We tell everyone that Mudd is our goat, Max is Mudd's goat. Max will follow Mudd anywhere, but there's no way you could get Max to do anything else.

Rabbbits
Currently we have  Rex, Havanas andCalifornians in the rabbitry. The rabbits are raised for meat, fur  and manure.

DOG
Boone is our huge Bloodhound. We've had him since he was a pup of 8 weeks old. He is in the pasture with the goats, unfortunately on a chain. He will dig out faster than you can blink. Surprisingly fast for his size of hole he has to dig to get his huge body out. We let him run the pastures when we can be right there with him. He loves being outside. He is an excellent watchdog. When we hear him bark, we know when to look at what he's barking at. It may be the neighbors walking their dogs or it may be the fox that's been trying to get to the chickens. He doesn't bark just to bark, there's something out there. He's a loving critter that slobbers my arm from armpit to fingertips whenever I go out to him. He's such a goof ball. Mudd actually sleeps with Boone in his doghouse, which used to be a chicken house a few years back.  Mudd and Boone have been buddies for years.
Boone
UPDATE: We lost our Boone on December 21, 2015 when he got out of his pen and was hit by a train. Boone had never before gone anywhere near the tracks and we still question why he went there. We will miss him dearly. We know he is in peace and with his beloved Holly.
